    About these signals

Six things we can work out from the numbers on file for the last 90 days, each set against a published reference range. A band is a comparison, not a grade: there is no score here, no fake-follower percentage. Audience demographics, when supplied, are shown separately. How the ranges were chosen.

The Dangote Refinery IPO is coming. But I think this moment is bigger than Dangote.

For years, we’ve talked about building Nigeria, industrialising Africa and creating prosperity for the next generation.

But there is another question we don’t ask often enough:

Who gets to OWN the businesses that build Africa?

With the SEC now approving the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO, I wanted to go beyond the headlines and ask some harder questions.

What does an asset of this scale mean for Nigeria’s economy?

What could broader ownership of African businesses mean for wealth creation?

What should ordinary investors actually understand before deciding whether an IPO is an opportunity?

And perhaps most importantly: can we build a generation of Africans who don’t just consume the continent’s growth but own a piece of it?

I explore these questions in AFRICAN AMBITION: Buy Nigeria to Build Nigeria, a new six-part mini-series from Azuwa Studios.

This isn’t about telling you whether to buy a stock. It’s about understanding the economics, the opportunity and the risks and having a more intelligent conversation about ownership.

Episode 1 -6 now on YouTube.
