Bride Ikram walked in with such a clear picture in her head: a reception look that was bright, colourful, richly detailed — and still beautifully modest. The kind of dress that makes a room pause. Here’s the thing, though: a piece like this would usually take our team about a minimum of three (3) months to bring to life. Bride Ikram needed hers in two weeks. We won’t pretend that wasn’t a challenge. But her vision was so clear, so specific, that it gave us something solid to hold onto and build around. So we got to work — layering teal into blue, bead by bead, using one of our own Sheye Oladejo signature beading patterns to bring the colour and texture she’d imagined into reality. Every stitch, every bead placement, every late-night decision was made with her in mind. And slowly, the dress started to feel less like a race against time and more like a labour of love. What came out the other side was a piece that felt completely, unmistakably Bride Ikram - colourful, expressive, and entirely her own. Two weeks may have been all we had, but we made sure every single day counted.

Our story with Ikram began with her sister, Mariam, when we had the privilege of creating her wedding outfit. Ikram was there through that process, watching the work, the fittings, and the details come together. So when it was her turn, creating for her felt like a continuation of a story already begun.
