    About these signals

Six things we can work out from the numbers on file for the last 90 days, each set against a published reference range. A band is a comparison, not a grade: there is no score here, no fake-follower percentage. Audience demographics, when supplied, are shown separately. How the ranges were chosen.

The first time ever that the @NGSuper_Falcons lost a group stage game was in 2002, when Alberta Sackey’s goal stunned the continent and handed the Falcons their first ever defeat on the continent.
The entire country was in meltdown, fans, media, officials, everyone. It was like Armageddon. Everyone predicting that the end was near, the team was not good enough and everything else under the sun.
Sam Okpodu was the coach at the time. Rather than dwell on the noise, he decided to block it and took the team off on a beach outing the very next day.
Nobody talked about the loss, or anything else. The players just had fun, relaxed and ignored everything happening outside their bubble. This pic was taken that day. Luckily, there was no social media at the time, either. But the media criticism was scathing and eviscerating.
The players returned after that, focused on the task and proceeded to win their remaining games. They met Ghana again in the Final, and despatched them 2-0 to claim another #WAFCON title (at the time, it was known as the AWC).
Madugu needs to do something similar. It doesn’t need to be a beach outing. Shut out the noise, focus on the task against Zambia and deliver results.
